Πολύ σκληροί για να πεθάνουν...Οι Πειρατές

Σε πάρα πολλά ιστολόγια, διάβασα τα παρακάτω...

Η δημοφιλής υπηρεσία ανταλλαγής αρχείων Pirate Bay τέθηκε offlline έπειτα από δικαστική απόφαση που υποχρεώνει τον πάροχο πρόσβασης του δικτυακού τόπου να τον βγάλει από την «πρίζα»
Περιφερειακό δικαστήριο της Στοκχόλμης απείλησε με πρόστιμο 500.000 κορωνών (50.000 ευρώ) τον ISP Black Internet, μέσω του οποίου συνδεόταν στο Διαδίκτυο το Pirate Bay.
Στο μεταξύ, οι αναφορές ότι το Pirate Bay θα μετατρεπόταν σύντομα σε νόμιμη επιχείρηση φαίνεται να διαψεύδονται. Στις 30 Ιουνίου, η σουηδική εταιρεία online παιχνιδιών Global Gaming Factory ανακοίνωσε ότι θα αγόραζε την υπηρεσία για περίπου 6 εκατ. ευρώ.
Τα σουηδικά μέσα αναφέρουν όμως τώρα ότι η ανακοίνωση για την εξαγορά ήταν στην πραγματικότητα μπλόφα, σχεδιασμένη να ανεβάσει την τιμή της μετοχής της Global Gaming Factory.
Την Τρίτη το Pirate Bay φαίνεται να βρίσκεται εκτός λειτουργίας, δεν αποκλείεται όμως να επαναλειτουργήσει μέσω διαφορετικού παρόχου πρόσβασης.

Νομική διαμάχη

Τον περασμένο Απρίλιο, τέσσερις άνδρες που βρίσκονται πίσω από το Pirate Bay καταδικάστηκαν σε ένα χρόνο φυλάκισης για συνέργια σε παραβίαση πνευματικής ιδιοκτησίας και κλήθηκαν να πληρώσουν αποζημιώσεις 3,56 εκατ. δολαρίων σε δισκογραφικές εταιρείες και κινηματογραφικά στούντιο.
Οι τέσσερις κατηγορούμενοι είχαν ασκήσει έφεση και μέχρι το απόγευμα της Δευτέρας ο δικτυακός τόπος τους παρέμενε σε λειτουργία.
Τον Ιούλιο, η κινηματογραφική βιομηχανία υπέβαλε νέα αγωγή κατά του Pirate Bay και τη Δευτέρα εκδόθηκε δικαστική απόφαση που εμποδίζει τη λειτουργία του διαδικτυακού τόπου μέχρι να εκδικαστεί η υπόθεση.
Το Pirate Bay ιδρύθηκε το 2003 και γρήγορα εξελίχθηκε σε έναν μια από τις δημοφιλέστερες υπηρεσίες για την ανταλλαγή νόμιμων και παράνομων αρχείων. Λειτουργούσε σε μια νομικά γκρίζα περιοχή, καθώς τα επίμαχα αρχεία δεν αποθηκεύονται στους δικούς του διακομιστές -προσέφερε μόνο συνδέσμους (links) για την ανταλλαγή υλικού ανάμεσα στους ίδιους τους χρήστες.
Όπως δήλωσε στο Γαλλικό Πρακτορείο Ειδήσεων ο Βίκτορ Μούλερ, διευθύνων σύμβουλος της Black Internet που προσέφερε διαδικτυακή πρόσβαση στο Pirate Bay μέχρι σήμερα, οι υπεύθυνοι της υπηρεσίας θα μπορέσουν να βρουν σύντομα άλλο πάροχο πρόσβασης.

Το "ξεσήκωσα" απ' το ιστολόγιο Ο Πειρατής και δεν ήταν οι μόνοι που το έγραψαν...

Έλα όμως που οι Πειρατές είναι πολύ σκληροί για να πεθάνουν....
Με αφορμή αυτές τις αναρτήσεις, έκανα μια επίσκεψη στην "κατεβασμένη"(;) ιστοσελίδα.
Όχι μόνον λειτουργεί κανονικά, αλλά στην θέση του γνωστού πειρατικού καραβιού - εμβλήματος, υπάρχει πλέον ένα κατάμαυρο μπλουζάκι που γράφει επάνω του τα εξής:

"I spent months of time and millions of dollars to close down The Pirate Bay and all i'll get is this beautiful t-shirt"!!! ...με την εξαιρετική αφιέρωση "With Love The Pirate Bay"!!!

Το πιο εντυπωσιακό είναι πως το μπλουζάκι αυτό, σε παραπέμπει στο blog που έφτιαξε η ιστοσελίδα, όπου κάθε ανάρτησή του, την ακολουθούν εκατοντάδες ή και χιλιάδες σχόλια!!!

We also suggest that someone raise a fund for Black Internet so that they can decide to fight the decision from Stockholms tingsfel. Talk to them and do something about it.

Wireless TPB

The good people at the MAFIAA decided to sue. Not TPB, not the owners of TPB. Not even TPBs ISP. They decided to sue TPBs ISPs ISP.

And you know what? They won. They made a court believe their #lies and they made them force the ISPs ISP to shut down access to TPB.

TPB can be compared to the organisation that builds the roads for cars to drive on. The ISP can be compared to the organisation that creates the asphalt for the roads. The ISPs ISP can be compared to the organisation that creates the tools needed to the asphalt to be created. You would normally not sue that organisation if a car speeds.

The MAFIAA has spent millions of dollars and endless amounts of time to get this ban in order. Our guess is that they also bribed a bit to get it since it violates so many laws not only in Sweden but also in the EU, not to mention violations against human rights. And what do they have to show for it? 3 hours of partial downtime.

The internets needs all of us!

The last days have been quite stress for all of us. We are still (of course) doing this for fun, and we are (of course) really grateful for or cheers and supportive comments. If we ever needed your support, this is now. Or, actually, more correct would be to say that the internet needs YOU!

In these times, when internet legislations and blockades are surrounding us from all angles, we really need to stick together. We need to work the internets as it would be our cute and possibly underages neighbor - gently but with a firm hand. Instead of bashing each other we really have to build the internet as we want it to be.

For example, we and our friends have recently been rebuilding the internets of Iran. Why? Do we take a stand in the recent election? No, not really. We just don't want to see people being slaughtered, and since internets is what we do that is also what we can provide. The systems surrounding the Iran project has now been up and running for a couple of weeks, and we really hope that they have made a difference. Actually we KNOW that they have, and that makes us very happy.

Besides that we are also working on the finishing touches to our anonymizer Ipredator, we continue working on our You tube killer The Video Bay. We are also a part of the internets collective tink tank We Rebuild EU, which focuses at European politics and internetional networking.

Remember this, guys and gals, we really love you all. Together we can build not only a free internets - but the world of our futures. Internets will be what we make of it.

User deletion

We are going to build a user deletion interface later today. Many people have asked about having their account removed and we will not force anyone to stay on of course.

However, we also want to point out that we have no logs of anything, no personal data will be transferred in the eventual sale (since no personal data is kept). So no need to be worried for safety. We always care for that.

It also feels a bit sad to see the comments on the previous blog entry. We understand that you're upset. But we have reasons to do this that we cannot ignore. We need to keep the site going and this is the only working alternative. We cannot finance the growth of the site anymore and we cannot back down. The only way is up and this is the only route to that place.

The support we had, is support we still need. We've been fighting for years for you; and yes; you have supported us in that endevour. We still need you, even if you abandon the site. The important thing is that you keep sharing and keep on saving the internets. We will try to do that, but right now, we need and deserve a break. Some things needs to be reborn and rebooted. Let's make this into something good!

We had some down time yesterday. It was due to some power failures in one of the data centres.

This should be resolved now!

Άλλωστε, μην ξεχνάτε ότι μιλάμε για τον μεγαλύτερο Bit torrent tracker στον κόσμο!
